Abstract

Present study provides an assessment of internal security threats posed by climate change. The focus of study is water, food and health security challenges. Climate change is not a threat itself but is a threat by changes in water. The enhance changes in water cycle and extreme weather events makes the easy access to safe drinking water, very difficult particularly for children’s. The disaster events, reported from 2001 to 2018, were water, related which include droughts and floods. The climate related disaster, contaminate the water and the risk of disease is increased. Water born disease are, cholera and typhoid which put the lives of children at risk. Water related disease are very common and that very day around 700 children’s, under age 5, dies world widely from inadequate water, sanitation and hygiene. In simple words, climate change is happening. It is a time to take action and protect water which is the part of solution. No one can afford to remain irrelevant in this crisis.   The most convincing connection between climate change and national security, is the impact of climate change on water security. Climate change is impacting the water cycle, which further has negative effects on agriculture, food and energy. The increased impacts of climate change over water, has deleterious consequences for the national and international security environment. To solve this issue, state of Pakistan needs a practicable policy by creating trust among various circles. Qualitative method based on Secondary resources is opted to give answer of question
